Accelerate your ESG journey

Start your ESG journey
Unsure where to start? We help you take the first step.
Velocity is Denmark's first specialist ESG consultancy. We help companies succeed by building a strong ESG proposition to attract new sources of capital, tap additional revenue opportunities and become more attractive as employers.
We do this by putting in place a tailor-made ESG strategy and roadmap; helping companies apply ESG frameworks and set net-zero emissions targets; supporting them in preparing their sustainability report and other communications, and helping them navigate ESG ratings.
Our Services
Start your ESG journey
The best place to start the ESG journey is by gaining a clear understanding of where your company stands against its competitors, what’s material for your investors, customers and employees and what the upcoming regulatory requirements are within your industry. Together, these will help to align your key decision makers and gain buy-in for the ESG journey ahead.
Our services include:
Conducting a gap analysis and peer benchmark
Undertaking a materiality assessment
Researching investor and customer ESG expectations
Mapping GHG emissions

Develop your ESG strategy and roadmap
Your ESG strategy and roadmap form the foundation of working with sustainability as a company and must be fully integrated into your overall corporate strategy. We work to ensure that the strategy and roadmap are focussed on what is material and really moves the needle based on your overall business objective, whether that is attracting new capital, customers or employees. The process of developing your ESG strategy and roadmap enables alignment at executive and board levels on a clear ambition level for the company’s sustainability efforts and the required investment to achieve it.
Our process includes:
Determining strategic ESG priorities based on what is material to your company and its stakeholders
Setting the overall ESG ambition level and specific targets within priority areas
Building an ESG roadmap with initiatives to deliver the ambition
Developing the overall ESG approach, governance model and policies
Integrate the SDGs into your company
The UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an important opportunity for companies to connect to global priorities, strengthen stakeholder engagement and meet sustainable reporting requirements. We help you identify where you can make an impact and avoid the trap of “SDG-washing”.
Our process includes:
Mapping your company’s existing impact on the SDGs and identifying which are material (often delivered as part of a broader materiality assessment)
Determining your SDG ambition level and setting targets
Developing initiatives to integrate the SDGs into your company
Reporting progress in the annual sustainability report

Set a net-zero emissions target
Setting a net-zero target through the Science Based Targets initiative sends a strong signal your investors, customers and employees. However, the decision to commit to a target has implications to your CAPEX and business strategy. We review our clients existing emissions and recommend a target and plan to achieve it, then help them secure approval from the Science Based Target initiative.
Our process includes:
Mapping existing scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions
Projecting future emissions and opportunities to reduce them
Deciding on the commitment level and set short to medium term targets
Making the submission to the Science Based Targets initiative
Report your ESG performance
Investors and customers need comparable, consistent, and comprehensive ESG reporting and disclosures in order to understand your company’s performance. There are several ways a company can choose to tell its ESG story. We develop a strong narrative for your ESG performance and help you adopt the ESG frameworks that investors and customers are increasingly asking for.
Our services include:
Preparing your sustainability report in line with regulatory requirements (EU, DK, UK, etc)
Sustainability narrative
Making TCFD, SASB, GRI and SDG disclosures
Disclosing on the CDP platform

Communicate with your ESG stakeholders
Given the increasing focus on ESG by investors and customers, as well as the rising number of ESG ratings agencies and indexes, companies need to proactively communicate their ESG strategy and performance. We help you make sense of ESG ratings and tell your story effectively.
Our services include:
Ensuring your ESG ratings accurately reflect performance
Responding to ESG questionnaires from investors and customers
Developing ESG investor presentations
Creating employee engagement campaigns

Our Work
Investor research for Maersk Supply Service
Maersk Supply Service wanted to gain an understanding of investor expectations of oil and gas companies transitioning to the renewable energy sector. The information would be used as an input in the development of its corporate strategy pivot from oil and gas to offshore wind, announced in August 2020.
We conducted interviews with leading Scandinavian pension funds, asset managers, banks and ESG experts.
The research revealed valuable insights, including their approach to the oil and gas sector and ESG investments and lending, expected CAPEX and revenue thresholds for a company transitioning to renewable energy and how they use ESG ratings agencies and in-house methodologies to score companies.
